Manufacturing Engineer
Established company with a large market share in manufacturing and a strong working culture has an opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer at a plant site in the southwest area of the Atlanta, GA metropolitan area. Much investment in the purchase of new capital equipment is taking place. This position will report to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager. In this position the selected candidate will plan and design manufacturing processes in an industrial plant; maximize efficiency by analyzing layout of equipment, workflow, assembly methods, and workforce utilization; determine parts and tools needed to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specification.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
 1. Ability to design production tooling, utilizing 2D & 3D software i.e. SolidWorks.
 2. Implement productivity improvements associated with current production lines.
 3. Perform root cause analysis of failures using statistical methods and recommend changes in designs, tolerances, or processing methods (e.g. Lean Tools).
 4. Design & implement production processes for new products and design changes to existing products.
 5. Perform FMEAs on new and existing products involving designs, materials, or processes.
 6. Review product designs for manufacturability and optimized processing.
 7. Participate in cross‑functional teams to ensure optimal productivity methods.
 8. Lead exercises in design of experiments, lean manufacturing, ROIA, etc.
 9. Lead design review meetings for new and existing products.
 10. Create work instructions, statements of work, spare parts inventories, critical parts inventories, etc.
 11. Implementation of automation, robotic, vision systems, controls integration, end‑of‑arm tooling, fixturing, gauging, machine design, etc.
Education / Experience
 1. Bachelor's Degree (BA) from a four‑year college or university, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
 2. Proficiency in 3D modeling software (SolidWorks) and Microsoft Office.
 3. Must have tooling experience.
 4. Project management experience required to run projects in their entirety.
 5. Automation experience (robotics and PLCs) needed.
 6. Experience as a manufacturing engineer in a heavy manufacturing environment.
 7. Formal industry experience – flexible regarding industry.
 8. Preferred experience with zinc or high‑pressure aluminum die casting, stamping, plating, finishing, or plastic injection molding.
 9. Foundry experience desired.

Physical Requirements
The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, talk, or hear. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands/arms and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
