The post holder will provide seniormanagement and leadership to the Strategy and Partnerships Team and developrobust internal and external stakeholder relationships which ensure statutoryincome is received and programmes of improvement and change are successfullyimplemented across the Hospice.
Main duties of the job
Strategic Planning
Workingwith the Director of Strategy and Partnerships, the CEO and other Directors theHead of Transformation is responsible for taking forward all aspects ofstrategic development, strategic aims and key priorities.
Ensure that the overarching aimsof the strategy are delivered through coordination and direction across thedirectorates and externally, addressing barriers to change and enabling longterm change and improvement.
Take oversight ofemerging opportunities for collaborative work or challenges arising fromnational and local system priorities to ensure a coordinated and appropriateresponse in line with hospice vision, strategy and values.
To supportthe development and delivery of the strategic direction based on an analysisand interpretation of current national guidance, context and developedunderstanding of the regional and local requirements.
Working with other Directors and Heads of, both interms of supporting strategy and performance, to ensure that appropriatebusiness and operational development processes are in place to deliver relevantand timely progress.
Contribute to evaluation plans, supporting developmentof effective approaches that can gather meaningful quantitative data andqualitative feedback from a broad range of stakeholders to demonstrateimpact

Shooting Star Childrens Hospices are a leading childrenshospice charity caring for babies, children and young people with life-limitingconditions, and their families.We support families across Surrey and South WestLondon from diagnosis to end of life and throughout bereavement with a range ofnursing, practical, emotional and medical care.
At the heart of the hospice are our dedicated clinicalstaffs. Their exceptional commitment and professionalism is commented on by somany of the supported children and their families.
It costs £10.5 million a year to maintain our current levelof care and only 30% of that income comes from government funding via the NHSor local authorities, so we rely on our supporters generosity to keep theservice running. We employ 175 staff, including 98 nursing and medical staff,providing hospice and community-based services to around 700 families.
Predominantly we work with families living inthe North West and South West of London and Surrey, although will acceptchildren outside these geographical areas if they do not have access tospecialist palliative care support locally. We have a reputation for deliveringhigh quality care.
Job responsibilities
The postholder will play an important role in building and managing external relationships across our ICBs and other statutory partners. They will undertake significant engagement and working in collaboration with a number of different stakeholders, including ICBs, commissioners, acute, primary care, mental health providers and voluntary community and social enterprise sector organisations.
The post holder will develop and maintain excellent working relationships at all levels within the hospice and work closely with internal and external stakeholders as required to support with innovative, effective and lasting solutions to complex service problems and supporting delivery of SSCHs Strategy.
The post holder will ensure the efficient operational management of the contracts manager, PMO office, and the inhouse statutory funding operation ensuring that it effectively supports the overall strategy. This will be done through setting goals, objectives, resources, milestones and measures of success to deliver significant change, improvement and transformation.

* The post holder will be working in a developing environment and they will therefore be expected to undertake other appropriate duties as required for the effective operation of Shooting Star Childrens Hospices.
* The post holder will be required to respect professional codes of conduct and practice relevant to their role, as appropriate
* Be responsible for health and safety in the area under their control and ensure that they are familiar with Shooting Star Childrens Hospices policy on health and safety at work.
