Bilfinger UK are looking for Electrical Authorised Persons to join our ongoing M&E project in the nuclear sector near Reading. Working Rotation 10 days on & 4 days off, working hours are Tuesday to Thursday 11.5 hours, Friday to Sunday 10 hours, Monday to Wednesday 11.5 hour and Thursday 6 hours. Site Bonus and Attendance Bonus (T&C apply) Overtime rates - OT1 x 1.5 & OT2 X 2.0 as per JIB Bi-weekly Travel & Non-Taxable Lodge as per JIB Main Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to; Setting standards and assessing competence of Nominated Persons Control and review legislative records pertaining to engineering safety Provide advice on the safe and effective implementation of engineering safety across the site Optimise the delivery of Engineering Safety Organisation Make judgement on the safe and effective implementation of engineering safety within area of authority Ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with relevant legislation, such as the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 and site-specific Electrical Safety Code. Review and Submit Energisation and outage requests to the Client for approval Ensuring electrical equipment is de-energized and isolated before any work begins, and preventing accidental re-energization. Identifying and mitigating safety hazards associated with low voltage systems. Contributing to the planning and execution of low voltage projects, ensuring compliance with standards and regulations. Managing the process of issuing and controlling electrical work permits & Limitation of access. Reviewing and maintaining safety documentation, such as Safe Systems of Work and isolation records. Overseeing and instructing other competent persons working on the electrical system. Effectively communicating with all relevant parties, including clients, vendors, and other workers. Qualifications & Experience; Good understanding of relevant British and MOD Standards Demonstrable knowledge and experience of maintaining LV Electrical, Control & Instrumentation equipment, such as power supply, data and information systems architecture Experience of identifying, managing and reporting on electrical safety risks to senior management Has held or holds an Authorising Engineer / Authorised Person appointment (MOD JSP 375 or equivalent) (Essential) City & Guild 2391 or equivalent (Essential) 17th / 18th edition IET wiring regulations 17th / 18th edition IET wiring regulations NVQ 3 ECS Approved electrician (CSCS Card Essential) First aid trained (3-day course which must include resuscitation) (Essential) SSSTS or SMSTS (Essential) Must be able to obtain SC clearance (Essential) Technical Knowledge of M&E scopes Good Microsoft Outlook, Word & Excel (Essential) If you wish to speak to a member of the recruitment team, please contact 01224 246246.
