We are looking for a commercially minded Group Marketing Manager to become the first dedicated marketing hire within our growing group of companies.
This is a key role for someone who wants to build something properly from the ground up. You will take ownership of marketing across a number of different brands within the group, covering both trade/construction and retail-focused businesses.
The main goal is to increase local awareness, drive footfall, improve customer enquiries, raise the profile of the group companies, and make sure our brands stay active in people’s minds.
You will take on our existing marketing activity, including email marketing, social media offers, flyers, promotions, events, digital signage and customer communications, while also bringing fresh ideas such as videography, content marketing, stronger paid advertising, better campaign tracking and more modern ways of reaching different customer groups.
This is not just a “post on social media” role. We need someone creative, organised and commercially aware, with the confidence to track results and focus on activity that produces a clear return.
Key Responsibilities
* Build and develop the marketing function for a growing group of companies
* Create and manage marketing plans across multiple brands
* Create social media content, offers and promotional campaigns
* Support and help shape Google Ads, Meta Ads and other paid media activity
* Work with external PPC and SEO teams, with a view to bringing more knowledge in-house over time
* Track ROI, ROAS, cost per lead, enquiries, engagement, footfall and campaign performance
* Create flyers, promotional artwork, branch marketing material and digital content
* Regularly update digital signage across the business
* Use modern techniques to attract trade, retail and local customer demographics
* Develop video content, behind-the-scenes content, product content and brand storytelling
* Help challenge dated industry norms with new ideas and better presentation
* Work with sales, purchasing and branch teams to gather product, customer and project content
* Maintain consistent branding across print, digital, social and in-branch marketing
* Help raise awareness of the group companies locally and regionally
Essential Skills and Experience
* Previous experience in a marketing manager or senior marketing role
* Track record of creating and delivering marketing plans
* Strong commercial awareness and ability to measure campaign performance
* Understanding of Google Ads, paid social media ads and campaign reporting
* Experience using Mailchimp or similar email marketing platforms
* Confident with Canva and Photoshop
* Experience creating and editing short-form video content using CapCut, Adobe or similar
* Good understanding of social media platforms and content formats
* Good eye for branding, layout and presentation
* Able to manage multiple brands, deadlines and priorities
* Comfortable working independently and building structure from scratch
* Full UK driving licence preferred
* Experience with Meta Ads Manager
* Experience with Google Analytics / GA4
* Understanding of conversion tracking and remarketing
* Basic SEO knowledge
* Basic website content management experience
* Experience with landing pages and lead generation campaigns
* CRM or customer database experience
* Photography and videography experience
* CapCut or Adobe Premiere/After Effects
* Experience working with external agencies
* Experience in trade, construction, retail, home improvement, merchanting, bathrooms or plumbing sectors
* Experience producing printed marketing materials
* Experience with customer segmentation and email list growth
* Experience reporting marketing performance to directors or senior leadership
Tools and Equipment
We will provide the tools and equipment needed to do the job properly, including content creation equipment, drones, 360 cameras, software and marketing systems where required.
Product knowledge is not essential. The right marketing ability, commercial mindset and creative drive are more important.
