Role Overview
As a Land Terminals Maintenance Engineer, you will have the unique opportunity to work on varied and interesting projects with continuous learning and development. The role focuses on the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of remote satellite ground terminals, ensuring agreed levels of availability and operational readiness across electrical, mechanical, RF, and software systems, with a strong emphasis on safety, reliability, and customer service.
Responsibilities
* Maintenance and inspection of small remote satellite land terminals.
* Conduct electrical safety inspections and testing in compliance with Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989.
* Test and repair RF equipment and systems, performing software and baseband system testing and repairs.
* Undertake general equipment repairs across the site.
* Respond promptly to service calls, resolving issues within agreed SLAs to deliver on‑site technical support and troubleshooting for customer‑reported issues.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, acting as a technical ambassador during site visits and support calls.
Essential Experience
* Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical, and software domains.
* Proficiency with diagnostic tools and test equipment.
* Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
* Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
* Proficiency in computer software used for diagnostics and reporting.
Qualifications
* NVQ Level 3 in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, BTEC Level 3 Certificate in Engineering (Electrical & Electronic pathway), or equivalent work experience.
* Full UK Driving Licence.
Security Clearance
