 
        
        Job Summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a Clinical/Counselling Psychologist to join the Home Treatment Teams across Westminster & Kensington and Chelsea. The teams work alongside inpatient and community mental health services to provide an increased level of support to those experiencing a mental health crisis outside an inpatient setting. The service supports users living in their own homes and step‑down accommodation across the boroughs.
The post-holder will work collaboratively with the Multi‑Disciplinary Team (MDT) and colleagues from other services to manage risk, provide a psychological perspective to care, and deliver assessment, formulation and brief interventions to service users and their families. The role involves developing psychologically informed interventions, supervising Assistant Psychologists, supporting a trainee clinical psychologist, overseeing quality accreditation (QNCRHTT), and contributing to team formulation, post‑incident support and reflective practice.
Key Responsibilities
 * Provide direct psychological therapy to clients, including assessment, formulation, risk assessment and brief evidence‑based interventions.
 * Deliver indirect support to MDT members by providing psychological consultation and contributing to clinical meetings and team formulation.
 * Supervise Assistant Psychologists and support a trainee clinical psychologist.
 * Maintain QNCRHTT accreditation by ensuring psychological standards are met and maintained.
 * Lead reflective practice, team formulation, consultation, and post‑incident support.
 * Utilise research skills for audit, policy, and service development, and contribute to service development/change leadership.
 * Provide post‑incident support to staff for wellbeing and psychological safety.
Person Specification
Education & Training
 * Doctoral level training in clinical or counselling psychology or equivalent, accredited by the BPS.
 * Health and Care Professions Council registration or equivalent.
 * Training in clinical supervision at doctoral level.
 * Desirable: Training in supervision of psychological therapies and evidence of post‑doctoral training (e.g., DBT/CBT‑P, systemic practice).
Experience
 * Specialist psychological assessment, formulation and interventions in acute or crisis settings.
 * Experience providing supervision to assistant/trainee or qualified psychologists.
 * Desirable: Experience with psychological trauma, facilitation of therapy groups, and service development/change leadership.
Knowledge & Skills
 * Complex psychological assessment, formulation and intervention skills.
 * Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
 * Doctoral level research methodology and data analysis.
 * Knowledge of QNCRHTT standards and accreditation process.
