Contracts Manager : Automation Projects – Birmingham, West Midlands (UK Wide coverage)
Salary: GBP55k – GBP60k (negotiable, dependent on experience), vehicle allowance, benefits.
Responsibilities
* Maintain constant communication with site managers, staff, and clients to ensure proper operations and consistent service delivery.
* Develop initial budgetary costing documents for Prime Contractor projects, including inclusions, exclusions, and assumptions.
* Manage full budgetary control of projects, including direct suppliers and labour, and conduct weekly client‑facing update meetings focusing on health & safety and contractor role.
* Coordinate overall site activity health and safety, balancing contractor and client needs.
* Develop CDM legal documentation such as Construction Phase H&S Plan, TMPs, fire safety plans, etc.
* Protect the company by ensuring delivery matches agreed scope; prevent financial loss from exclusions or out‑of‑scope items.
* Manage company suppliers and labour contracts (e.g., cabins, cleaners, fire extinguishers).
* Compile H&S file information and O&M manuals, distribute to Principal Designer (CDM) at project completion.
Qualifications & Experience
* NEBOSH Certificate Level 3 (General or Construction) or equivalent.
* SMSTS training.
* Member of the Associate of Project Safety (APS).
* Minimum 3 years of proven experience within the construction industry.
* Strong commercial acumen, budget development, conflict management, project management, and business negotiation skills.
