* Improve threat detection capabilities by analysing emerging risks and refining monitoring rules and indicators within network and security tools
* Work closely with the organisation’s SIEM/SOC provider to optimise alerting, detection coverage, and automated response processes
* Ensure key security logs are captured, reviewed, and retained in accordance with compliance and audit requirements
* Lead or support cyber incident investigations, conducting root cause analysis and recommending remediation actions

* Oversee vulnerability management processes, ensuring timely patching and remediation across network and endpoint devices
* Contribute to secure architecture reviews for new applications, cloud services, and infrastructure changes
* Support supplier security assessments and evaluate third‑party integrations from a technical risk perspective
Key Experience Required
* Strong hands‑on experience in network security engineering, including firewalls, perimeter defence, endpoint protection, and XDR solutions
* In‑depth understanding of secure network design principles such as VLANs, DNS, TCP/IP, VPNs, access control, and segmentation
* Demonstrated experience securing cloud environments within both Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure, including identity management, RBAC, conditional access policies, and threat protection tooling
* Confident communicator who can clearly articulate security risks and recommendations to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders
* Proactive and accountable approach, comfortable owning security decisions and outcomes
* Proven background in a network or cyber security engineering role
* Familiarity with recognised security and compliance frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, CIS benchmarks, and GDPR
