Your new role
1. Take end‑to‑end responsibility for delivering accurate and timely payroll across multiple pay cycles.
2. Process payroll changes including new starters, leavers and contractual variations
3. Calculate and administer statutory payments such as SSP, SMP, SPP, PAYE and National Insurance
4. Prepare and distribute payslips in line with agreed deadlines
5. Manage holiday calculations, payments and employee queries
6. Ensure ongoingpliance with payroll legislation and statutory requirements
7. Administer pension processes including auto‑enrolment, Localernment schemes and associated deductions
8. Act as a key point of contact for payroll queries, providing clear explanations and resolutions.
9. Support internal and external audits through reconciliations, reporting and documentation
10. Liaise with external payroll and system providers to resolve issues and maintain service standards
11. Assist with payroll system upgrades, testing and continuous process improvement initiatives
12. Produce payroll and workforce reports to support operational and strategic decision making
13. Support the Payroll Manager with period end activities and monthly close processes
What you'll need to succeed
14. Proven experience in a payroll role within a fast paced, high volume environment
15. Strong working knowledge of UK payroll legislation and statutory payments
16. Experience administering pensions and payroll deductions
17. Confidence performing manual calculations where required
18. Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel and payroll systems
19. Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and the ability to managepeting deadlines
20. Strongmunication skills with the confidence to engage with employees and senior stakeholders
21. A proactive, positive attitude andmitment to delivering excellent customer service
22. CIPP qualification or working towards certification (desirable but not essential)
