This role offers the opportunity to lead a central support team within a regulated environment, contributing to the planning, execution, and follow-up of inspections and enforcement activities. It requires a strong focus on compliance, stakeholder engagement, and operational excellence. Ideal candidates will bring experience from regulated industries, a logical and analytical mindset, and a passion for protecting public health and environmental standards.

Accountabilities & Responsibilities

Team leadership

* Lead and manage a central support team, ensuring effective resource allocation to meet operational, regulatory, and customer service demands.
* Foster a culture of continuous improvement through coaching, mentoring, and performance development.
* Monitor team performance against service standards, regulatory expectations, and internal KPIs, driving accountability and resilience.

Regulatory operations & scheduling

* Oversee the scheduling of inspections and enforcement activities using business systems (e.g., JIRA, Salesforce), ensuring efficient deployment of field resources.
* Collaborate with technical officers to ensure inspection data is accurate, complete, and delivered in a timely manner.
* Support the Enforcement Manager in managing inspection outcomes, follow-up actions, and resolution of complex or high-risk cases.

Stakeholder engagement

* Assist in managing escalated enquiries, complaints, and regulatory queries from customers and internal stakeholders.
* Act as a liaison with the company’s legal team, supporting enforcement actions and regulatory compliance.
* Ensure all communications are professional, clear, and aligned with company values and regulatory obligations.

Compliance & enforcement

* Support the identification, investigation, and resolution of non-compliance issues, ensuring appropriate enforcement actions are taken.
* Contribute to the development and delivery of enforcement strategies and regulatory reporting.
* Maintain accurate records of compliance activities and performance metrics to support internal and external reporting requirements.

Technical Skills & Experience

* Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and enforcement processes, ideally within the water industry or other regulated sectors (e.g., environmental, utilities, health & safety).
