Primary Responsibilities:
• Utilize constant “Observations & Reporting” practices
• Assist Emergency Services Personnel as applicable
• Observe Video Surveillance Camera monitors
• Report “anything out of the ordinary’ – Report Writing
• Patrol designated campus parking areas; hourly interior and exterior patrols utilizing the m-Post documentation system installed on the Security Cellular Phone
• Report violation of applicable laws, ordinances, and Community Hospice policies and procedures
• Through Deportment, (Command Presence) maintain a safe and secure community environment
• Demonstrates positive customer-service practices with patients, visitors, vendors, and staff
• Study and maintain knowledge retention of the Community Hospice Safety & Security Officer Manual – complete the final exam with a minimum of a 75% accuracy rate within the first 90 days of employment (Probation Period)
• Inclement weather or other natural/man-made emergencies will require the Security Officer to Perform duties as outlined in the Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan. Overnight stay may be required.
• Required to maintain shift coverage up to an additional four (4) hours in the event of call out or unexpected absence of shift relief
• Flexibility to work various shifts at various locations
• Completes annual mandatory trainings
• All other duties assigned by the Security Management Team including maintaining a professional uniform appearance
Required Licenses/Certifications:
• State of Florida Class “D”/ Unarmed Security
Officer License preferred
• Current State of Florida driver’s license with
driving record acceptable to Community Hospice
insurance carrier, and reliable transportation
that is available 24/7
Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
Any combination of education and experience that would provide required skills and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying.
Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:
• High School diploma or G.E.D.
• Minimum of two (2) years previous experience in
security - related industry
Knowledge of:
• Video Surveillance Systems monitoring/reporting
• Monitoring of Fire panel & Alarm Systems
• Basic computer skills, word, excel & power point
• Access control
• Customer Service Skills-internal/external client
Skilled at:
• Customer Service Skills-internal/external client
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
