One of our customers is seeking additional commercial legal support to manage a surge in customer transaction volumes. There is a particular requirement for lawyers who are eligible for, or already hold, UK Government security clearance (SC and DV levels).
Multiple roles are available across both Public and Private Sector workstreams, supporting a UK-based business function.
The team is looking to onboard multiple lawyers who are required immediately or at short notice (circa one week), depending on business demand. The initial engagement is expected to run for approximately 1–2 months.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide high-quality legal and commercial support to sales and business teams, facilitating the negotiation and execution of customer contracts
* Advise on complex commercial agreements, balancing legal risk with commercial opportunity
* Act as a core member of bid teams, engaging directly with customers and negotiating with opposing legal counsel
* Support the management of live contracts, including resolving complex issues, advising on regulatory changes, and assisting with dispute resolution
* Lead on high-value and strategically important transactions across public and private sector clients
* Deliver clear, pragmatic legal advice that enables informed decision-making and risk mitigation
* Partner with internal stakeholders on bids, contract interpretation, disputes, and evolving legislative requirements
* Act as a trusted point of contact for business stakeholders, handling escalations and driving solutions
* Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders, providing insight on legal implications of business decisions
* Ensure all activities align with internal governance, regulatory requirements, and compliance frameworks
* Identify and escalate legal, regulatory, and compliance risks where appropriate
* Contribute to broader legal strategy and operational initiatives
* Promote a strong culture of risk awareness and effective risk management
Skills & Experience
* Demonstrable experience operating in a fast-paced commercial environment, with a strong background in negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts (customer and supplier side), particularly within telecoms and/or technology sectors
* Experience advising on public sector procurement and CCS frameworks (required for at least one role)
* Familiarity with defence contracting frameworks, including Qualifying Defence Contracts and the Single Source Contract Regulations 2014 (required for one role)
* Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a wider team
* Strong communication skills, with the ability to distil complex legal issues into clear, actionable advice
* Commercially astute, with a solid understanding of business drivers and organisational priorities
* Proactive mindset, with a willingness to challenge existing approaches and drive improvements
* Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
* Practical and solutions-oriented approach to legal problem-solving
