Contentious Probate Solicitor (5 PQE) Location: Cheshire / Hybrid Contract Up to £80,000 per annum (DOE) Benefits A well-established and growing law firm is seeking an experienced Contentious Probate Solicitor to join its expanding Private Client Litigation team. This is an excellent opportunity for a solicitor with strong contentious probate experience to manage a varied caseload of inheritance and estate disputes within a supportive and collaborative environment. The Role You will manage your own caseload of contentious probate and inheritance disputes, handling matters from instruction through to resolution while delivering high standards of client care and commercially focused legal advice. Key Responsibilities Managing a caseload of contentious probate matters independently Advising clients on inheritance disputes, claims, strategy, risk, and costs Handling will disputes, Inheritance Act claims, and estate administration disputes Drafting legal correspondence, witness statements, and settlement proposals Liaising with counsel, experts, courts, and third parties Preparing matters for negotiation, mediation, and litigation where appropriate Ensuring files are progressed efficiently and compliantly Supervising and supporting junior colleagues where required Contributing to the ongoing growth and development of the department Requirements Qualified Solicitor with 5 years’ PQE Strong experience in contentious probate and inheritance disputes Excellent technical knowledge of wills and estate litigation Ability to manage a caseload independently Strong drafting, negotiation, and communication skills Professional and empathetic client-care approach Organised, proactive, and commercially aware mindset Team-oriented with willingness to support junior staff What’s on Offer Salary up to £80,000 DOE Hybrid working available Full-time, permanent position Supportive and collaborative team culture Career progression and development opportunities Competitive benefits package Apply Apply now with your CV to be considered for this opportunity.
