Part Time Chef – Wellesley Hospital, Elysium Healthcare
Join Wellesley Hospital as a Part Time Chef working 28.5 hours a week, preparing and serving high‑quality meals for service users, staff and visitors, and providing training and cost‑control for the kitchen.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the Head Chef in day‑to‑day kitchen operations.
* Maintain food storage, stock rotation and HACCP compliance.
* Plan, prepare, and cook meals, meeting special requests and dietary requirements.
* Serve food and beverages professionally to users, staff, and visitors.
* Produce catering for conferences and banquets.
* Contribute to food costings and cost‑control procedures.
* Take full shift responsibility for the catering operation.
* Research and develop new menus aligned with healthy eating guidelines.
* Record temperature logs, cleaning schedules, and other HACCP documentation.
Qualifications & Experience
* 18 years or older.
* GCSE or equivalent in English.
* City & Guilds 706/1 and 2 (or equivalent) Basic Food Preparation Cooking.
* Basic Food Hygiene (essential). Intermediate Food Hygiene (desirable).
* Previous experience in a similar kitchen environment.
* Experience delivering high‑volume service.
* Menu planning, costing, stock control, and budget experience.

Westpark 26, Chelston, Wellington, Somerset, TA21 9FF – Wellesley Hospital (101 beds, mental health).
