Job Description
The Senior Practitioner role is a full‑time position within the Adult Social Care Continuing Healthcare Team. You will oversee a complex caseload of adults, including cases involving best‑interest decisions, high‑profile safeguarding enquiries, statutory challenges, and complementary supporting services. Your duties will include completing supervisions, conducting direct observations, auditing cases, and delivering learning practice sessions. You will work closely with Operations and Practice Managers to raise standards and share practice models, facilitate reflective practice, and support staff in safeguarding triage and enquiry management.
Responsibilities
* Oversee a complex caseload of adults with safeguarding, legal, and health service requirements.
* Provide supervision, direct observation and audit of cases.
* Lead and deliver learning practice and reflective practice sessions.
* Participate in safeguard triage and support staff in setting terms of reference for enquiries.
* Develop and maintain a development plan to grow confidence in decision‑making.
Qualifications
* Registered with a professional regulatory body (social work, occupational therapy, nursing or psychology).
* Demonstrated knowledge of social work practice.
* Sound understanding of Safeguarding Adults legislation and practice.
* Level 1 Practice Educator Professional Standards (Enabling Learning) or equivalent, or willingness to undertake the qualification.

* Subject to an Enhanced DBS check or Enhanced check for Regulated Activity with the Disclosure & Barring Services.
* Starting salary is pro‑rata if the position is part‑time or term‑time only.
