Please note this role is a hybrid role based in Pity Me, Durham. There will be a requirement to be in the office at least 2 days per week (Currently Tuesdays & Thursdays for this team.) Please only apply if you can commit to this.

About the Role
We are seeking an Accounts Payable Assistant to join our Finance team. In this role, you will ensure efficient processing of invoices through our systems, enabling timely payments to suppliers and helping us achieve our target of paying 97% of invoices on time. You will also maintain accurate accounting records and protect the business against fraud.
This position involves direct interaction with suppliers and internal customers across the business, requiring you to build effective working relationships to resolve potentially challenging issues.
About you
You are highly organised, conscientious, and able to work effectively both as part of a team and independently. You have a proven track record of building and maintaining good working relationships and possess excellent communication skills.
Proficiency in Word and Excel is essential, as is the ability to respond to various stakeholders, both internal and external, through multiple channels.
Ideally, you have a working knowledge of purchasing and payment systems and processes.
We are looking for you to have a minimum of 5 GCSE’s Grade 4 or above, or equivalent.
