Role: Mechanical Supervisor
Location: HARIBO Castleford
Working hours: 40 hours per week (Monday- Friday: 06:00 – 14:00 and 14:00 – 22:00)

We are on the hunt for a Mechanical Supervisor to come and join our alternating days and afters Engineering team based out of our Castleford site.
Reporting to the Engineering Manager on a day-to-day basis you will be responsible for managing the department to ensure colleagues are motivated to deliver in their role leading to safe, efficient and high standards of engineering support enabling Haribo to achieve its objectives.
You will be responsible for all Mechanical decisions whilst on shift to ensure the delivery of the engineering schedule, whilst maintaining health and safety, quality and food safety standards within an environment of continuous improvement and engagement for colleagues.
You will have key relationships with other departments including but not limited to Production, Packing, HSE, Technical Services and the People Team.

1. Monitoring the standard of Mechanical work carried out across the business including organising and supervising jobs
2. Allocating and controlling resources (nominals)
3. Ordering and maintaining stock levels of spare parts
4. Understanding department goals / targets
5. Making decisions
6. Problem solving e.g., resolve and report on any breakdowns
7. Continuously looking to identify & implement ways to improve the performance of the department (e.g., improving machine efficiency)
8. Ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with any Permit to Works, Job recording, fire alarm
9. Any other activities relevant to the role
Ingredients that you bring with you:
10. Previous experience in Food Manufacturing is essential
11. A recognised Mechanical apprenticeship
12. Awareness / Knowledge of Health & Safety and Food Hygiene standards
13. Excellent level of communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal – with the ability to communicate well at all levels
14. Ability to work individually, and as part of a team, is essential
15. Experience of supervising a team is essential
16. Have knowledge and experience in delivering detailed reports, combined with the ability to present the relevant information to all interested stakeholders
17. Commitment to continuous improvement
