Overview
Garry is in his early thirties and lives independently in his own home. Several years ago he sustained a traumatic brain injury following a road traffic accident, which now requires structured support with planning, organising, budgeting, shopping, and managing day‑to‑day household tasks.
Role
The role involves supporting Garry in his daily activities, including accompanying him to the gym or other appropriate outings that promote wellbeing and independence. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team and report directly to the case manager, contributing to care planning and ensuring that Garry receives high‑quality, person‑centred support.
Requirements
* Previous care experience
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
* Experienced driver
* Background in supporting individuals with brain injuries
Working Hours
* Part‑time or full‑time hours available
* Part‑time: 18 hours
* Full‑time: 36 hours
* Possibility to work overtime on an as‑needed basis
* Shift: 1 pm – 11 pm followed by a sleep‑in shift finishing at 7 am
* Minimum of 2 consecutive shifts
Pay Rates
* Weekdays: £14.00 per hour
* Weekends: £16.00 per hour
* Sleeping shifts (Monday‑Thursday):
o 8:00 pm – 11:00 pm: £14.00 per hour
o 11:00 pm – 7:00 am: National Minimum Wage (currently £12.21 per hour)
* Sleeping shifts (Friday‑Sunday):
o 8:00 pm – 11:00 pm: £16.00 per hour
o 11:00 pm – 7:00 am: National Minimum Wage plus £0.50 (currently £12.71 per hour)
* On bank holidays you will be paid double your usual hourly rate.
Other Information
All posts are subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure with Adult and Child Workforce Barring.
Full training will be provided.
There will be a two‑stage interview process, first with the case manager, and then with the client.
