Job Description
Our client, a leading manufacturing company based in Newcastle, is looking to recruit an Electrical Technician on a permanent basis due to business growth. The successful candidate will assemble and test electrical/electronic components used in sub-assemblies and final builds.
Candidates should be electrically trained with demonstrable experience in reading electrical schematics, panel wiring, soldering, crimping, and terminating cabling. Experience in panel building is highly desirable.
Hours
* Monday – Thursday: 6:30am to 3:00pm
* Friday: 6:30am – 12:00pm
Any overtime worked over 37 hours per week is paid at premium rates to boost earnings. An average of 15-20 hours of overtime per month is available.
Responsibilities
* Assemble electrical/electronic sub-assemblies from schematic diagrams, drawings, or verbal instructions, following work order instructions to ISO9001 standards.
* Wire and solder wiring harnesses, cable assemblies, transformer assemblies, control consoles, and connectors.
* Perform limited troubleshooting and testing of assemblies.
* Ensure assembly and sub-assembly build times meet department efficiency targets and project schedules.
* Complete all necessary documentation, including timesheets and ECNs.
* Carry out tasks safely following good working practices.
* Ensure all assembly work meets department quality standards.
Skills & Qualifications
* Ideally, candidates will be time served in an electrical discipline.
* A good understanding of electrical/electronic systems is essential.
* Technical competence in low voltage AC/DC panel wiring/looming, high voltage installations, control/data systems, and fibre optic handling/termination is advantageous.
* Ability to read and interpret drawings and sketches.
