Overview
We are looking for a part‑time MOD Dentist (23 hours per week) at the Defence Primary Healthcare Dental Centre, HMS Drake, Plymouth, Devonport. The role requires visiting personnel and maintaining their oral health while supporting overall operational fitness. The closing date for applications is 23 June 2026.
Working Hours
Tuesday & Wednesday: 0745 – 1630 (60‑min lunch break)
Thursday: 0745 – 1615 (60‑min lunch break)

Main Duties of the Job
* Inspect personnel in accordance with NICE guidelines and provide follow‑up treatment.
* Conduct occupational oral health assessments and contribute dental input to the Joint Medical Employment Standard.
* Record care in integrated electronic health records.
* Manage surgical areas, documentation, consumable stores, data security, and equipment maintenance.
* Refer personnel to enhanced practitioners, specialists or consultants as appropriate.
Qualifications & Experience
* Fully registered Dentist with the General Dental Council (GDC).
* Evidence of at least 24 months full‑time postgraduate clinical experience in a primary dental care setting, or completion of UK Dental Foundation Training, or qualification before Foundation Training became compulsory.
* Proof of clinical currency: minimum of 2 clinical sessions per week over the last 15 months.
* Hepatitis B serology evidence (serology levels required).
Employment Conditions
* Probationary period of 6 months for new Civil Service entrants.
* Security clearance (Security Check) required.
* Visa sponsorship not available – role open only to those who do not require UK visa sponsorship.

Remuneration
£60,188 to £99,410 a year (pro‑rata) – pay award pending.
