We are excited to invite applications for a dynamic and motivated Staff Nurse to join our Daycase and Ophthalmology Theatre Department at the National Treatment Centre – Highland (NTC-H). While prior experience in a similar role is preferred, we are committed to providing full training and support for the right candidate.
About Us
The NTC-H is a state-of-the-art, purpose-built facility located on the Inverness University Campus. We provide high-quality care to both ophthalmology and orthopaedic patients, utilising 5 modern theatres, a 24-bed ward, and a dedicated Ophthalmology Outpatients Department.
The Ophthalmology Theatre Department
Our Ophthalmology Theatre Department features 3 fully equipped theatres and supports a wide range of surgical specialties, including High Flow Cataract Surgery, as well as sub-specialities such as glaucoma, oculoplastic, corneal, and vitreoretinal surgeries.
The Role
This exciting role will be primarily based in the Daycase Unit, where you will play a key role in the safe preparation and discharge of both ophthalmology and orthopaedic patients attending for surgery. As part of a fast-paced and supportive team, you’ll ensure that patients are provided with high-quality care and attention throughout their stay. While the role focuses on the Daycase Unit, there may be future opportunities to rotate into the Ophthalmology Theatres as part of your career development.
We are looking for a dedicated Staff Nurse who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is eager to work in a multidisciplinary team to enhance patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Providing pre-operative and post-operative care for ophthalmology and orthopaedic patients
2. Assisting with patient preparation for surgery, including assessments and documentation
3. Ensuring safe discharge procedures are followed and patients are supported through their recovery journey
4. Contributing to the smooth running of the Daycase Unit
