As a Food Technology Teacher, you will play a crucial role in delivering engaging lessons, inspiring students with your subject knowledge, and promoting the importance of nutrition, food preparation, and life skills. You ll join a well-resourced department that is committed to high standards and creative teaching approaches.
As a Food Technology Teacher, your responsibilities will include:
* Planning and delivering high-quality lessons that are engaging and relevant to students across KS3 and KS4
* Designing practical and theory-based activities that build essential culinary skills and food knowledge
* Assessing student progress and providing clear, constructive feedback
* Creating a safe, inclusive, and inspiring classroom environment
* Collaborating with colleagues to support the department s development and contribute to whole-school initiatives
* Promoting health, safety, and hygiene standards within the food technology classroom
To be considered for the Food Technology Teacher role, you must:
* Hold UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
* Have experience teaching Food Technology in UK secondary schools (ECTs welcome)
* Demonstrate strong classroom management skills and a proactive teaching approach
* Be passionate about food education, health, and well-being
* Have excellent communication and organisational skills
* Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
