Job overview
The Bristol Haematology and Oncology Centre (BHOC) is a leading provider of cancer care, committed to excellent patient outcomes and a strong culture of continuous professional development. We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and knowledgeable Band 6 Cancer Practice Education Facilitator (PEF) to support the development of our nursing workforce.
Main duties of the job
Applicants must be SACT trained and have relevant clinical experience, enabling them to support, educate and assure practice in complex clinical cancer practice. You will play a key role in developing nurses’ knowledge, confidence and competence in oncology and haematology care delivery, while also contributing to broader education across specialist cancer services. The role responsibilities are mapped to the ACCEND Framework, and applicants are expected to reference the framework within their supporting statements. We warmly welcome pre‑application visits, alongside informal conversations with our Cancer Lead PEF, prior to submission and interview.

Knowledge and Experience
* Considerable experience as a Registered Nurse within Oncology or Haematology
* Evidence of recent and continued formal and informal teaching experience
* Able to understand the education training needs of staff
* Portfolio of continuing professional development
* To have current knowledge of Cancer Nursing
* Experience of developing education training packages
* Knowledge of current changes within the NHS and Nurse education
* Experience as a clinical supervisor
* Evidence of research and audit participation
* Experience as a Registered Nurse within stem cell transplant/immune effector cell therapy
* Experience as a Registered Nurse within acute oncology
Skills and Abilities
* SACT trained and competent
* Able to undertake and deliver presentations
* Able to engage with a variety of personnel within the Trust and outside e.g. University, Network
* Able to develop and enhance education/training packages for all staff
* Innovative and able to create a variety of learning opportunities for staff
* Able to effectively contribute to clinical environment that is motivating and conducive to lifelong learning
* Able to manage databases with a working knowledge of I.T.
* Committed, supportive, enthusiastic and innovative nursing and education
* Self‑motivated and able to motivate and enthuse others
* Good organisational skills
Qualifications and Training
* Post Registration course in a relevant subject
* Bachelor’s Degree (or working towards)
* Willingness to undertake a PGCE or Master’s Degree
