Overview
Electrical Project Engineer – Brighton. Based in or around South East England with the opportunity to travel across multiple sites/projects in the Region. Join the team at Galliford Try within our Environment Business to deliver schemes of varying sizes predominantly to the Water Industry in sewage and clean water. Reporting to the Project Manager, you will work with the project delivery team to ensure the design, procurement, financial control and site activities are achieved.
Responsibilities
* Outline engineering from inception to completion of schemes using in-house resources, site installation and construction personnel.
* Delivery of water Non Infra M&E Projects.
* Design management and liaison.
* Early site investigation works in coordination with the client, design and project team.
* Production and review of health and safety documentation (risk assessments & method statements / Project management plans).
* Procurement of materials.
* Attend or undertake factory, site and works testing, commissioning, and client training.
* Attendance and input into internal and client design reviews.
* Collaborate with the design team to gather required information, participate in regular design reviews and Hazard Studies to develop the best solution.
* Involvement with cost to complete / budget reviews with the project delivery teams.
* Negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors; involvement with preparation of subcontract orders.
* Assist with the evaluation and submission of claims for variation works.
* Coordinate with site manager and site teams to ensure work is completed to programme, budget and quality.
* Develop Inspection and Test Plans and ensure they are completed as the scheme progresses.
* Innovate while maintaining compliance to current standards.
* Prepare and manage project programmes.
* Maintain high standards of Health & Safety performance.
* Work with the team to develop and close out contract documentation such as As-built drawings, Commissioning Manuals and Operation and Maintenance Manuals.
About You
* An industry applicable electrical ONC/HNC/B.Eng or NVQ equivalent.
* Proven experience within the Water Industry.
* Experience working on Non Infra Projects of varying sizes.
* ATEX experience desirable but not essential.
* Commercial and contractual awareness.
* Working knowledge of Microsoft packages including Project.
