The Opportunity
We are seeking a committed, reflective and enthusiastic teacher to join our KS3/KS4 team on a permanent basis. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a highly supportive and inclusive school community where teaching is purposeful, relational and centred around the needs of each individual pupil.
We welcome applications from teachers who would be suited to working within either Key Stage 3 or Key Stage 4 provision, depending on experience and strengths.
About the Role
As a KS3/KS4 SEND Teacher, you will:
7. Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging and personalised learning
8. Adapt teaching to meet a wide range of SEND needs, including autism, communication difficulties, SEMH and anxiety-related barriers to learning
9. Deliver meaningful learning experiences that support both academic achievement and preparation for adulthood
10. Use a Total Communication approach to help pupils engage, communicate and succeed
11. Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, therapists, families and multi-agency professionals
12. Support pupils’ emotional wellbeing, independence and personal development
13. Contribute to EHCP outcomes through highly personalised provision and targeted support
14. Be part of a reflective staff team committed to continual improvement and best practice across the Trust
About You
We are looking for a teacher who is passionate about inclusive education and wants to make a genuine difference to the lives of young people with SEND.
You will:
15. Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
16. Be adaptable, reflective and solution-focused
17. Have strong classroom and behaviour management skills
18. Be able to build positive relationships with pupils, families and colleagues
19. Have high expectations for all learners
20. Be committed to inclusion, wellbeing and relational practice
21. Ideally have experience working within a SEND setting or supporting pupils with autism, communication needs or SEMH
22. Value teamwork, collaboration and professional development
Whether you already have extensive SEND experience or are keen to further develop your expertise, you will be well supported through coaching, collaboration and ongoing professional development.
