Are you an expert in distribution risks and underwriting practices with good knowledge of testing and assurance methodology and practices? We’re recruiting for a Distribution Assurance Consultant in our Risk Assurance team in AXA Commercial. Reporting to our Distribution Assurance Manager, you’ll deliver assurance activity to help inform potential risk exposure AXA Commercial may have as a result of the underwriting and distribution strategies, frameworks and processes in operation within the business. The scope of the work will span all distribution channels within AXA Commercial. It'll also include third party firms where we have delegated authorities in place with them to discharge key activity on behalf of AXA Commercial.
At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least 40% of your week away from home, moving to the majority of your working week from September 2025. Away from home means either attendance at one of our office locations, visiting clients or attending industry events.
What you’ll be doing:
* Carry out assurance monitoring activity both on and off site.
* Build meaningful working relationships across Risk Assurance and AXA Commercial.
* Deliver Terms of Reference, assess information from the business, perform on and off site assurance activity, complete file reviews, call listening, interviews and report writing along with other assurance requirements.
* Agree findings within draft reports with Commercial Risk and other AXA Commercial stakeholders, including delivery of opinions and rating of issues.
* Manage recommendations and actions to clear evidenced conclusion in line with risk appetite.
* Ensure aligned activity to measure the effectiveness of risk and control management in line with the AXA UK Risk Taxonomy, rather than checking process or framework adherence.
* Deliver agreed final reports to fully address root cause, draw clear conclusions, and make proportionate recommendations, to drive improvements in risk and control management within AXA Commercial.
* Lead reporting that is of a high standard, with escalation to an appropriate level within AXA Commercial, in alignment to the risk ownership model and the AXA Commercial Governance Framework.

What you’ll bring:
* Excellent knowledge of the risks in distribution and underwriting practices within financial services business.
* Thorough knowledge of testing and assurance methodology and practices.
* Report writing skills with good attention to detail.
* Knowledge of FCA and PRA requirements, with the ability to apply that to distribution and underwriting risk to drive meaningful action and improvement initiatives.
* Pragmatic and balanced in approach with ability to quantify and size risks and issues accurately.
* Curious, inquisitive and comfortable to provide questions and challenge until issues are resolved to a satisfactory standard.
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to absorb high volumes of information and distil to pertinent facts.
* Good communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to build trust and credibility with business stakeholders.
As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorised to work in the United Kingdom.
