1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Kings Heath, Birmingham (B14)
Weekly Pay: £460 - £500
Hours: Monday to Friday | 8:30am - 3:30pm (Term Time Only)
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Long-Term | Temp-to-Perm

Long Term Futures is working with a welcoming primary school in Kings Heath (B14) to recruit a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant. You will support a non-verbal autistic child within the school's Pathways Provision, helping them access learning through structure, routine and personalised strategies. This is a rewarding role suited to someone patient, emotionally aware and confident supporting autism and sensory needs.
The Role
You will:
Provide consistent 1:1 support for a pupil with complex SEND
Support a non-verbal child with ASD using visual communication, PECS and symbols
Help regulate emotions through sensory-based strategies
Work towards EHCP outcomes and individual support plans
Support transitions and routines to reduce anxiety
Work closely with the SENDCo and Pathways team
Promote independence, engagement and emotional regulation
Maintain a calm, structured learning environment
