An exciting Band 6 role has arisen within Maidstone & Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust, for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Occupational Therapist to join a new rotation. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your career and to gain specialist clinical skills, support and supervise others and participate in service development.

Main duties of the job

The rotations will be 9 months and include:

1. Stroke
2. Neuro Rehab
3. Trauma and Orthopaedics
4. Medical & Surgical
5. Elderly Care

You will need to be able to work in a fast paced and busy environment, have excellent communication skills and have experience of an acute hospital setting.

Qualifications

Essential criteria

6. Diploma/Degree in Occupational therapy
7. HCPC Registration

Desirable criteria

8. Member of Professional Body
9. Member of special interest group
10. Post-graduate training in relevant short courses

Experience

Essential criteria

11. Post qualification experience in a physical setting
12. Evidence of personal and professional development
13. Experience in working as part of an MDT
14. Experience of leading and influencing others, including OT colleagues
15. Experience in leading and contributing to Audit
16. Experience in service improvement
17. An understanding of common medical, and surgical conditions, care of the elderly, neurology, trauma and orthopaedics
18. Application of OT theory in the treatment of medical, surgical, orthopaedics, neurology, care of the elderly conditions in an inpatient setting

Desirable criteria

19. Experience of acute in patient treatment
20. Experience of acute in patient treatment

Skills

Essential criteria

21. Experience and commitment to multi-disciplinary working
22. Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
