Who we are
The MelaFemme Collective is an events-based network for Black and Black Mixed/dual heritage
women aged 25 years + in London. We host after-work experiences, social mixers, and wellness-led
events that prioritise having fun, trying new experiences together, connection and sisterhood.
We officially launched 25th July 2025 and already have 160+ members in our WhatsApp community.
Our social media presence is growing fairly quickly and we are looking for someone aligned with the
vision to help bring our brand to life online.
Job Purpose
To develop and execute a dynamic social media strategy that amplifies The MelaFemme Collective’s
brand, fosters community engagement, and drives growth across digital platforms. This role is ideal
for a creative Black or Mixed Black woman passionate about content, culture, and community.
Key Responsibilities
Content Creation & Curation: Develop and curate visually appealing / culturally relevant
content as graphics, videos, stories, reels, etc. Help grow our social media platforms Instagram,
Snapchat, Facebook, TikTok, Snapchat and soon LinkedIn. Attend events to create live content
and update story highlights, snapchat content etc.
Community Engagement: Actively engage with our online community, respond to comments
and messages, and foster meaningful conversations. (CEO/ Founder will do this task for now)
Social Media Strategy: Assist in developing and implementing social media strategies to
increase brand awareness and engagement.
Analytics & Reporting: Track and analyse social media performance metrics to optimise
content and strategies.
Campaign Support: Support the promotion of our events, workshops, and other initiatives
through social media campaigns.
Brand Consistency: Ensure all social media content is aligned with The MelaFemme
Collective's brand identity and values to shape and maintain the digital tone and voice of the
brand.
Staying Current: Stay up-to-date with social media trends, best practices, and emerging platforms
Required Qualifications
Proven experience managing social media accounts for a brand, organisation, or personal brand
or strong background in content creation and editing.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong understanding of all our social media platforms and best practices.
Proficiency in creating engaging visual content using tools like Canva, Capcut or similar.
Passion for The MelaFemme Collective's mission and values.
Desired Skills and Competencies
Experience with social media analytics tools.
Basic graphic design skills.
Knowledge of current trends in Black culture.
Strong eye for design and visual storytelling.

Passionate about content creation and community building.
Organised and detail-oriented.
Strong work ethic and commitment to deadlines.
Reliable, self-motivated, and enthusiastic.
Open to feedback and continuous learning.

Working Conditions
Remote and flexible working arrangement but should be based in London or have reliable/
efficient connections to London.
Estimated time commitment: 5-10 hours per month (flexible).
Regular communication with the CEO / Founder.
Attendance at most TMC events preferred.
Quarterly in-person meetings with the CEO/ Founder.
