Overview
Experience is sought for the Experienced Social Worker - Children Assessment and Intervention role at London Borough of Merton. The post is within Merton's Family Assessment and Intervention Service. The service aims to deliver outstanding children’s services, with a focus on keeping children and young people safe, ensuring they belong, stay safe and can thrive. We are committed to improving practice and supporting staff and families, working in partnership with other agencies.
Responsibilities
* Manage a caseload of families and children with complex needs in a fast-paced environment.
* Work in partnership with families and partner agencies, seeking supervision and guidance and supporting team activities and strategic priorities.
* Lead and support best practice in the Assessment and Intervention Service, with opportunities to develop through reflective supervision and enhanced training.
* Contribute to a blended practice model that combines signs of safety, systemic practice and relationship based social work.
* Provide direction and guidance for early help and statutory services on a rota basis with set office-based days.
* Demonstrate compassion and respect when working with families and ensure safeguarding is effective and timely.
Qualifications
* Qualified social worker, registered with Social Work England.
* Relevant experience in statutory safeguarding services and an interest in expanding learning and development across all aspects of children’s social care.
* Ability to manage a caseload, work in partnership, seek supervision, and contribute to team activities and strategic priorities.
