Attendance Support Officer (Fixed Term)

The Attendance Service are seeking to recruit 2 ambitious and motivated Attendance Support Officers to join the team within Supporting Learners Service (Education, Skills & Community Wellbeing Directorate) on a Fixed Term basis. One post is for up to 23 months, and the other is Fixed Term for 12 months. Although based in Dumfries, the postholders will work in schools across Dumfries and Galloway.
Applications are welcomed from those looking for both full and part time hours.
This post may be suitable for secondment. Agreement from your line manager must be sought before applying for this post.
We are seeking individuals who are dedicated to improving outcomes for our children and young people. You will provide professional support and specialist knowledge to schools and families to support children with low school attendance.
Applicants should have experience of working with children and young people.
This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act. From 28 February, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.
Applicants who have been resident outside the UK within the last 5 years, if offered a position, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check, will be required to provide a completed police record check from the police authority in the country or countries in which they were resident.
