As a Dental Nurse, you will work collaboratively with the dental team, assisting with various procedures and ensuring the smooth operation of the dental service. Your ability to work well under pressure, excellentmunication skills, and dedication to patient care will be key to your success in this role.The contact is for 3 months starting on 1st October. After 3 months, the contract will be reviewed and, subject to funding, might be extended. Working hours are Monday & Tuesday only, 15 hours per week, We are also recruiting for a full-time role Monday to Friday, per week from 08:30 to 17:00.Both roles are based in Peterborough, PE1 1TN.Key Responsibilities
1. Assist the dentist with all aspects of patient care Preparation of filling / impression materials. Assist the dentist during the taking of x-rays, process and mount x-ray films and change processor chemicals as required.
2. Maintain a clean and sterile environment within the surgery.
3. Have a good knowledge of all dental equipment, its uses and its basic maintenance, chair and suction units, sterilizers, hand-pieces, etc.
4. Liaise with school staff for forward planning and arrange dental school screenings. Apany the Dentist on these visits.
5. Maintenance of stock levels, re-ordering as necessary
6. Accurately record and manage patient information.
7. Booking appointments and taking telephone calls when needed.
8. Provide support with reception duties as needed.
9. Deliver outstanding patient care consistently.
What You'll Need
10. A valid GDC registration is essential.
11. Evidence of immunisation to Hep B, MMR, TB/BCG and HIV, Hep C, Hep B antigen tests (EEP)
12. At least 2 Clinical References from the past 3 years (UK only).
13. Excellentmunication skills and interpersonal skills are required as patients may present withplex/special needs that could include language barriers.
