At Quest Global, we are hiring Environmental Health and Safety Manager for one of our customers at Bristol, which is 12 months contract with Outside IR35 and 100% onsite. Purpose of this Position As a member of the Health and Safety team, this position will partner with the Project Director, Subject matter experts and workforce to provide strategic support and implementation of the company Safety Health and Environmental (SHE) programs. This position reports directly to the Project Director and has a dotted line reporting to the SHE Business Unit Director. The office for this position will be based on the location of candidate and proximity to an Element location (Preferred Bristol area). This position is responsible for: Deployment of Strategic improvements and initiatives to continually improve and align SHE Management systems into the Project Building HSE Accountabilities and responsibilities through the operating teams to deliver a step change in HSE management Support Project teams at all levels to implement Element Business Best practice and new procedures as part of the project. Coach and guide all levels to develop effective ways of working where learning and development is front and Centre of everything we do. The development, sourcing, implementation, and administration of organizational SHE policies, programs, practices and procedures. Grow the awareness of SHE throughout the project via audits and assessments to determine development needs and identified gaps (at both a macro and micro level) and effectuate programs to close the gap. Measure and ensure company executes to the legalregulatory requirements. Working with external consultants to review the SHE programs effectiveness at mitigating risks through the project and support the necessary improvements identified. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Responsible for the execution of a company focused SHE program. Partner with the Project team (Project Director, Project managers, subject matter experts) to understand SHE concerns, opportunities, and gaps and provide solutions to close the gaps. Develop and deliver SHE training as well as development of SHE programs based on organizational needs. Investigate, determine, and develop a process to track effectiveness of safety programs. Support locations to maintain general regulatory compliance. Advise and assist the Project team and employees in identifying SHE improvement opportunities and actions. Responsible for the reporting on the performance of the SHE management system, ensuring two-way communication to management, colleagues and any other interested parties Support incident and injury investigations and partner with insurance carrier to manage worker compensation and other loss claims. Champion the development of the One Element Safety culture to ensure alignment with company guiding principles, business vision and company values. Establish relationships with outside organizations and institutions as required to develop programs, training content, or to refer employees for outside safety training solutions appropriate to their training needs. Mentor location safety leaders in the development of those roles. Able to carry out HAZID,HAZOPS,LOPA,FMEA assessments Support in CDM duties as a client representative Experience in a battery testing Environment Experience in a Hydrogen Testing Environment Education and/or Experience Degree in Risk/ Loss /Safety Management, Engineering, Occupational Safety, or other related fields or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The candidate must have a strong understanding of country/ local safety, health and environmental laws and legislation. Minimum experience level: 4-8 years of experience in a Safety, Health and Environmental leadership role with management experience. Language Skills Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, customer testing specifications, and procedure manuals. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Other Skills and Abilities Exposure to country health and safety standards, hazardous materials, industrial hygiene, ergonomics and environmental compliance. Able to train and deliver key messages to large diverse groups. Proven track record of working in and/or influencing relationships where there is exposure to sensitive issues. Experience working with multiple locations and company leadership. Must be proficient and experienced working with Word, Excel, and Power Point. Availability, flexibility, and maturity to represent the company at a broad range of events/projects in the community, with customers and within the company and externally. Ability to remain calm when faced with mounting pressure related to deadlines and multiple priorities. Well-developed oral and written communication skills to meet a variety of communication needs. Good interpersonal skills that foster open upward and downward communication built on mutual respect. Time commitments will vary based on business needs and may consist of travel (40%) to various assigned locations nationally and internationally.
