Jacob’s is an iconic brand with over years of baking heritage, and now part of the global pladis family.

We are currently looking for an Electrical Engineer to join our engineering team to provide resource in carrying out planned maintenance, breakdown repairs, refurbishment, installation, improvements and modifications or upgrade to plant and services to maximize plant performance and maintain equipment to the required standard.

You will improve plant availability, life cycle costs and efficiency and carry out all engineering work to a high Engineering, Quality, Safety and Hygiene standards. You will also support the engineering function in moving to World Class standard in maintenance standards in line with AMIS audits and benchmarking

You will provide full Technical Engineering support to production function under the leadership of the Area Engineering Managers and by working as part of a multi-functional team on a rotating shift pattern. You will also understand and contribute to achieving the goals of the Factory by efficiently carrying out any assigned Engineering task.

Key Responsibilities

1. Ensure validity of engineering and responsible for execution of all electrical works associated in projects as per the design specifications and engineering standards and within budgets, in accordance with QA QC and company procedures.
2. Prepare and study technical drawings, specifications of electrical systems to ensure that installations and operations conform to standards and customer requirements.
3. Conduct field surveys and study maps, graphs, diagrams, and other technical data to identify and correct power system problems.
4. Work with power distribution systems, control systems, ELV systems.
5. Create, plan, design and manage all aspects of the projects electrical systems.
6. Confer with colleagues to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical information.
7. Check and approve shop drawings, evaluation of design specifications and technical suppliers drawings and specifications.
8. Provide feedback to design engineers on customer problems and needs.
9. Conduct research that analyzes the feasibility, design, operation and performance of equipment, components and systems.

Experience, Skills & Qualifications

10. You will be a time served as an electrical engineer
11. A minimum of years experience in a fast paced manufacturing environment
12. Thorough understanding of problem solving techniques
13. Electrical & Mechanical comprehension skills

Desirable Attributes

14. PLC experience preferred
15. Advanced PC Skills
16. IOSH Managing Safely
17. Technical (Base Food Hygiene Cert)

Qualifications

18. Formal engineering qualification - City & Guilds Level, NVQ Level or equivalent in an electrical/mechanical discipline
