Behaviour Buddy Wanted – Make a Difference Every Day! Location: South Shore, Blackpool Role Type: Full-time / Long-term Start Date: Immediate / September 2025 Agency: Teaching Personnel Are you passionate about helping children succeed no matter their challenges? Do you have the resilience, empathy, and confidence to support pupils with behavioural needs in a positive and structured way? Teaching Personnel are working closely with a mainstream primary school in South Shore, Blackpool, seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Behaviour Buddy to join their specialist behaviour unit. This role offers the chance to work with pupils who need additional guidance to thrive emotionally, socially, and academically. About the Role: Supporting children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Working 1:1 or in small groups to build trust, emotional resilience, and promote positive behaviour. Assisting the class teacher and behaviour lead in delivering tailored learning and behaviour strategies. Using de-escalation techniques and promoting restorative approaches. Encouraging engagement, confidence, and independence in pupils who may have experienced trauma, ACEs or inconsistent schooling. We’re looking for someone who: Has experience supporting children with behavioural challenges (in education, youth work, or care settings). Is calm under pressure and confident managing challenging behaviour. Can build positive relationships quickly and maintain consistent boundaries. Has a genuine passion for helping children reach their full potential. Team Teach or similar training is desirable (but not essential – full training provided). What Teaching Personnel Offers: Competitive weekly pay (via PAYE). Ongoing training including behaviour management and safeguarding. Dedicated consultant support from the Lancashire Primary team.
