Location: Huddersfield, West Yorkshire

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am 3:30pm
Are you passionate about supporting young people who face barriers to education? We are recruiting a School Outreach Worker to work across PRUs and SEND schools in Huddersfield, supporting students who are currently unable to access mainstream education.
Role Overview
This role involves working 1:1 with pupils who may be experiencing:
Social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges
Anxiety, school phobia, or trauma
Medical or social factors affecting attendance
Youll deliver tailored academic and pastoral support in homes, community settings, or off-site hubs, helping students re-engage with learning and build confidence.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver individualised learning and wellbeing support
Build trusting relationships with students and families
Monitor progress, attendance, and engagement
Liaise with schools, social workers, and external agencies
Support transitions back into education or onward destinations
Requirements
Experience working with children or young people with SEMH or additional needs
Ability to work independently and adapt to varied environments
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (essential)
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain)
Strong communication and organisational skills
