Machine Tool Applications EngineerLocation : Coventry Commutable from : Nuneaton, Rugby, Leamington Spa, Warwick, Solihull, Birmingham Salary : £40,000 £45,000 per annum Shift : Monday Thursday 7:30am 4:00pm, Friday 7:30am 3:00pm Overseas Travel RequiredAbout the CompanyA well-established specialist machine tool manufacturer is currently looking to recruit an experienced Machine Tool Applications Engineer to join their engineering team.This is an excellent opportunity to work within an advanced engineering environment supporting high-precision CNC grinding and machining applications across global customer sites.The RoleAs a Machine Tool Applications Engineer, you will be responsible for machine programming, setup, testing, installation, and customer support across a range of CNC grinding and machining applications.Understanding and writing CNC programs, mainly Siemens 840 controlsGrinding and machining components to engineering drawingsProgramming and setting machines for grinding customer sample partsDeveloping processes to optimise machine cyclesInstalling NC standard machine cycles and operational dataCarrying out full functional testing of machines to internal proceduresPreparing machines and associated equipment for PDI and customer installationCarrying out machine installations, testing, and customer training globallyProviding technical sales support including tooling and time studiesSupporting customers with aftersales technical supportAssisting with product improvements and development activitiesAbout YouTo be considered for this position, you should have:Previous experience programming and setting CNC machinesExperience with 3 to 5 axis CNC machinerySiemens controls experience preferred, ideally Siemens 840DAbility to read and work from engineering drawings and tight tolerancesStrong communication skills with the ability to train and support customersWillingness to travel internationally and work on customer sites globallyAbility to work safely and follow structured health and safety proceduresGood organisational and reporting skillsCompetent IT skills including office software packagesDesirable ExperienceGrinding experience including threads, worms, and gearsAbility to read machine parts lists, assembly drawings, and basic electrical drawingsHow to ApplyTo apply for the Machine Tool Applications Engineer position, click Apply Now and upload your CV.
