Location: Our Foundation Learning department
You will support learners working at Entry Level and Level 1 to build confidence and reach their potential. Through creative and inclusive teaching, you will help learners develop essential skills for further study, employment, or independence. Your teaching may include subjects such as English, maths, personal and social development, employability, independent living, and vocational tasters, tailored to your experience and specialism.
Responsibilities include delivering basic maths and English up to Level 2, adapting lessons to meet diverse needs, embedding functional skills, and promoting soft skills like communication, teamwork, and resilience. You will track learner progress, set targets, review outcomes, and provide reports to parents, carers, and schools. Collaboration with Learning Support Assistants and external agencies is essential to ensure appropriate support for learners.

Ideal Candidate: Patience, empathy, and dedication to learner progress are essential. You should understand the challenges faced by Entry and Level 1 learners and create a safe, respectful, and encouraging learning environment. Experience in teaching or supporting learners at various levels, particularly in English, maths, personal development, and employability, is required. Skills include adapting teaching to different learning styles, embedding functional and soft skills, and maintaining accurate records. Collaboration with support staff, families, and external agencies is vital.
You must have a recognized teaching qualification or be working towards one and be committed to professional development. Above all, you should care deeply about empowering learners to grow, achieve, and progress.
Required Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:
* Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject
* Level 4 teaching qualification (e.g., CTLLS) or willingness to achieve it
* GCSE (or equivalent) English and maths at grade C/4 or above
* Experience working with young people
* Evidence of ongoing CPD
