Group Manager – Pret A Manger
📍 Scotland East| 🕒 Full-Time | 💼 Leadership Role | Salary: 45K, Negotiable Based On Experience

Are you a passionate leader with a talent for developing high-performing teams? Pret A Manger is looking for an experienced and driven Group Manager to oversee a cluster of our vibrant shops, ensuring outstanding operational performance and delivering the quality, service, and values our customers know and love.

As a Group Manager at Pret, you will play a vital role in supporting Shop Managers, driving business results, and creating an environment where both teams and customers thrive. A bit about the role

You are instrumental to the success and growth of the business. Your expertise drives operational excellence in your area and enables your team to perform exceptionally well. Your responsibilities will be divided into four key areas:


Growing Your Business

* Develop and deliver a strategic plan with measurable goals to maximise business opportunities and drive your area’s performance.

* Use the Big 4 principles (Forecasting, Rota, Ordering, Production) to achieve business targets; considering customer, team, and business needs.

* Drive excellent customer experience and monitor competitors to develop counter strategies and grow sales.

* Maximise multi‑channel sales (Catering & B2C).

* Build robust succession plans, ensuring Plan Bs are in place for every manager.

* Monitor the effectiveness of our recruitment and onboarding processes, focusing on recruits’ experiences and performance levels.

* Lead successful new store openings (NSO).

* Create a meaningful network with peers and Support Centre to identify and share opportunities and best practices.


Leading High‑Performing Teams

* Evaluate team performance through regular 1:1 conversations and formal reviews.

* Cultivate a sense of accountability in your team, setting SMART targets and monitoring KPIs & Strategy plans.

* Act as a coach and mentor, sharing your expertise and connect with shop teams during visits to support them in growing sales.


Communication & Engagement

* Foster a two‑way communication culture, applying the 3B’s (Be Kind, Be Honest, Be Generous) in practice.

* Review people‑related KPIs to nurture employee well‑being and engagement.

* Ensure consistent follow‑up on action plans, recognising and rewarding progress.

* Empower and encourage your team to use Joy of Pret to reward customers and drive loyalty.

* Communicate changes and business updates effectively, ensuring follow‑through on actions from meetings.


Enforcing our High Standards

* Plan formal shop visits to audit and monitor standards.

* Analyse area results and react proactively to challenges, creating clear action plans.

* Collaborate with Safety, Finance, and People Business Partners to problem‑solve and implement operational standards.

* Make data‑informed decisions to identify opportunities and create SMART actions to grow sales.

* Monitor in‑shop training effectiveness and legal compliance to develop high‑performing teams.
