Responsibilities

* Supervise, coordinate and support the site-based engineering team, including internal and MEP responsibilities.
* Operate all systems within the facility in a competent, effective and efficient manner (including MV Switching Operations). Make recommendations for improvement and provide concise technical reports when required.
* Control all activities relating to the technical and efficient operation of the installed building systems including all MEP assets and compliance with statutory regulations.
* Prepare/plan and support Specialist Vendor planned, reactive and corrective works, ensuring relevant Change Management approval is submitted for all critical works.
* Ensure Specialist Vendor worksheets are signed off where necessary, that the quality of work has been inspected and recommendations are communicated by the Engineering Team (Shift Engineers).
* Provide backup as engineering relief cover in the event of an emergency, which may require temporary shift work.
* Ensure the team and Specialist Vendors comply with the contractual service level agreements (SLAs).
* Operate the Corrigo CMMS system, ensuring MEP PPM, reactive and corrective work orders/tasks are completed within SLA. Monitor progress to ensure outputs meet expectations; utilise appropriate resources within the team.
* Attend weekly operations meetings and client meetings as requested, in conjunction with Integral account management.
* Highlight engineering risk and report on critical systems availability daily.
* Complete shift handover reports, noting significant events or activities for oncoming shifts and management.
* Control critical spares, maintain site stock register, audit stock levels, and procure spares from suppliers if required.
* Compile of critical incident and near-miss reporting and after-action reviews.
* Escalate critical equipment operational issues immediately, in line with local site process.
* Review service reports of all Specialist Vendors and chase any recommendations/follow-up actions.
* Produce Site-Specific SOP/MOP/EOP.
* Assist the Assistant Chief Engineer in delivering critical infrastructure scenario training and lead the development of engineers within the team.
* Contribute to continuous improvement of safe systems of work and ensure compliance with HSE policy and procedures, including TBTs.
* Escalate Specialist Vendor performance issues with accurate details of concerns.
* Communicate technical/legislative updates effectively to all team members.
* Maintain minimum levels of on-site staffing, support cover/replacement arrangements.
* Liaise with Supply Chain when ordering M&E components for remedial works.
* Support account training matrix management and drive a positive culture regarding personal development and training.
* Coach new employees as part of onboarding.
* Participate in the engineering Quality Assurance process and audit 10% of completed Work Orders to ensure quality standards are maintained.
* Complete all responsibilities in line with the site-based MEP responsibilities matrix.


Personal Specification / Qualifications

* Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in Critical Environments such as Banking HQ and Data Centres.
* HV Authorised Person (Experienced with HV Systems).
* Electrical/Mechanical Engineering HNC or HND (Successfully completed apprenticeship in either).
* C&G Pts. 1 & 2, equivalent or exceeds.
* 17th Edition IEE: Wiring and Installation (Ability to attain 18th Edition through additional training).
* C&G 2391 test and inspection; BS 7671:2001 for inspection, testing and certification.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to deal with all levels of staff.
* Ability to lead, motivate and direct a small team of engineers.
* Willingness to attend on- and off-site training for MEP assets, which may require nights away from home for HV training.
* Ability to comprehend and act upon both verbal and written instructions.
* Enthusiasm and proactivity, with diligence and alertness, willing to participate in internal training programs.
* Integrity, honesty and punctuality are expected.
