Title: Senior Mechanical Engineer
Location: Dundee
Grade: G11
Responsibilities
* Work on new product developments designing mechanical parts, assemblies and mechanisms - including injection moulded parts, sheet metal parts, castings, turned parts, etc.
* Clearly understand documentation and the ability to work solely on problems as well as within a team environment.
* Must be willing to work to and set high work standards and be a good communicator.
* FMEA experience.
* Module/Platforming/Product architectures.
* Ability to work on several projects simultaneously.
* Work with Suppliers throughout project lifecycle.
* Lead electro/mechanical development activities, providing estimates, manufacturing options etc.
* Experience in electro/mechanical product design and working with tooling suppliers and parts manufacturers.
* Working with Industrial design functions to deliver designs as conceived and within the commercial goals.
* Proven track record delivering cost effective designs to specification and engineering standards.
* Supplier engagement and change management.
* Lead design validation via design reviews, stress analysis, assembly tolerances, testing and problem correction CLCA.
* Release work products using the approved system with all relevant documentation required to implement your design change.
Basis Design And Experience
* Experience: Minimum of 7 years related experience.
* Education: BEng (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering (or very similar STEM related discipline) – min 2:1.
* Strong understanding of Mechanical design principles and technologies.
* Good solid experience in previous mechanical engineering roles.
* Team Player: Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with cross-functions teams internally and externally.
* Highly proficient in CAD (Pro/E or Solidworks preferred).
