South Lincolnshire Academies Trust is seeking to appoint a Pastoral Year Lead to join the Pastoral Team at either Spalding Academy or Cowley Academy and also at Giles Academy.
Pastoral Year Leads are an integral part of the Pastoral Team. This is a highly valued and responsible position requiring a team player who is self-motivated and willing to respond enthusiastically in an organisation that has high expectations of all colleagues and students.
This is an exciting opportunity and the successful candidate must be inspirational and innovative; you will be joining a strong, dynamic and forward-thinking team who have excellent relationships with students, colleagues, parents/carers and supporting outside agencies.
The role will involve providing pastoral support to the varying needs of our students in order for them to achieve academically and flourish as individuals. You must be able to model the emotional intelligence required to build effective and positive relationships with all in our community.

Spalding Academy is an oversubscribed non-selective mixed 11-16 secondary school and joined South Lincolnshire Academies Trust in September 2016.
* The school has over 1,400 students with a pupil admission number (PAN) of 300 – this has recently increased from 270 and is set to increase to 320.
* The school is performing WELL ABOVE national average and is in the top 5% of all schools nationally (based on a Progress 8 score of +0.67 in 2023).
* It is consistently in the top two non-selective secondary schools in Lincolnshire and outperforms local grammar schools.
* Spalding Academy is the top performing secondary school in Spalding.
* The last Ofsted inspection was in 2019, where the school was graded Good in every category under SLAT leadership. Prior to joining the Trust in 2016, Spalding Academy was one of only 19 schools in the whole of the UK graded as Inadequate in every category.

Spalding Academy has already had a new 8 classroom block building, large astro pitch, PE changing room block, music block with recording facilities and performing arts rooms plus refurbishment of IT and science classrooms.
