Senior / Principal Geotechnical Engineer
We are supporting a growing engineering and environmental consultancy in the appointment of an experienced Geo-Environmental / Geotechnical Engineer. This role offers the opportunity to work across a varied project portfolio within a collaborative and supportive team.
The Role
You will be responsible for the delivery of a range of site investigation, geotechnical, and environmental projects, including:
* Planning and managing ground investigations using a variety of techniques
* Interpreting site data to support engineering design and development projects
* Logging and sampling soils and groundwater in accordance with relevant standards
* Supporting and delivering land quality and environmental assessments across multiple project stages
* Developing site understanding and assessing potential risks
* Preparing technical documentation and reports to a high standard
* Supporting environmental and earthworks-related activities where required
* Assisting with monitoring and interpretation of ground conditions
* Ensuring compliance with relevant health, safety, and environmental requirements
* Liaising with clients, contractors, and internal teams to support project delivery
About You
* Degree qualified in a relevant discipline (e.g. Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science)
* Ideally working towards or holding a professional qualification
* Experience within a geotechnical, geo-environmental, or site investigation role
* Comfortable managing site-based activities and technical reporting
* Good understanding of relevant guidance, standards, and best practice
* Strong communication skills and attention to detail
* Able to work both independently and as part of a wider team
* Committed to continuous professional development
* Full UK driving licence
