Reporting to Voids Supervisor, you are required to carry out planned works on behalf of Maintenance Operatives. These works relate to residential properties, public buildings and commercial properties.
The successful candidate should be comfortable working in a busy, fast-paced environment, have a confident and friendly manner, and excellent communication skills.

In housing you can make a real difference, the role of Trade Engineer–Carpenter will involve:
Undertake a range of trade tasks to complement the fulfilment of primary trade activities
Be suitably qualified, on an on-going basis, to carry out all works, meeting all regulatory and H&S requirements (Where specific qualifications are required for the primary skill designated these will be detailed separately)
Carry out all works in line with applicable recognised regulations
Provide on site support to trade engineers in the fulfilment of their duties, when required
Support an emergency call out rota in line with the Maintenance Operations Emergency Call Out document (where applicable)
Support a flexible working rota operating between 08:00 – 19:00 Monday – Friday (where applicable)
As a Trade Engineer–Carpenter, we need you to have:
Craft City & Guilds or S/NVQ Level 2 in Carpentry is essential
Craft City & Guilds or S/NVQ Level 3 in Carpentry is desirable
Ideally be CSCS Card holder or equivalent
Basic knowledge of Carpentry and associated skills
Experience of working within the social housing sector delivering maintenance and building services in both void and occupied properties
Experience of health and safety best practice and procedures and ability to give examples of how compliance has been upheld within a repairs and/or maintenance environment
Experience of dealing with customers, working alongside contractors and subcontractors
Proven ability in all aspects of Carpentry and associated skills including diagnosis of work problems
Ability to understand and respond to both verbal and written instructions
Ability to undertake heavy lifting, pushing, pulling, etc and to be able to negotiate flights of stairs in multi-storey blocks of varying levels (i.e. some of the buildings are 16 storeys high)
Ability to work alone and as part of a team, at times without supervision
Ability and willingness to work in some unpleasant conditions (appropriate processes and PPE will be provided)
Willingness to work at weekends and out of hours (on a rota basis)
A full UK driving license
