The Registered Medication Associate (RMA) role provides high-quality care and services to meet the overall needs of residents in a caring, consistent, individualized, and efficient manner. He or she ensures residents receive comprehensive care by assisting with medication administration, in accordance with state licensing and regulatory standards. The RMA is also a Culture Ambassador, modeling the company's core values, leading by example, and ensuring all team members do the same.

Qualifications:
* Successfully completed coursework and examinations to obtain certification as a Resident Care Associate.
* Maintain certification through continuing education credits as required by the state, providing evidence of continued certification in a timely manner.
* Knowledge of safe medication administration techniques, demonstrated through a competency skills evaluation.
* CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain as per company policy.
* Understanding and practice of resident confidentiality.
* Availability to work weekends and flexible hours as needed.
* Sincere compassion and genuine concern for the physical and emotional needs of seniors and their families.
* Proficiency in basic office equipment, including a personal computer.

Primary Responsibilities:
* Assist in monitoring and ensuring the safe delivery of the Medication Management Program.
* Adhere to all policies, procedures, and regulatory standards when administering medications.
* Accurately administer and record medications as prescribed.
* Observe, record, and report any adverse reactions or side effects.
* Determine and document medication effectiveness and refusals.
* Store medications safely and accurately.
* Monitor medication accountability and document all related activities.
* Maintain accurate documentation, including shift communication logs.
* Handle controlled substances safely, including shift counts and discrepancy reporting.
* Inspect, clean, and monitor equipment and supplies for safety.
* Record vital signs during medication administration as indicated.
* Manage medication inventories and reorders as needed.
* Complete incident reports and maintain resident records accurately.
* Follow infection control practices and OSHA standards.
* Communicate effectively with residents, staff, and families.
* Prioritize resident support and maintain a positive, professional demeanor.
* Participate in training and act as a shift supervisor when appropriate.
* Perform additional duties as assigned.
Physical/Sensory Requirements:
The RMA must be able to lift, stoop, carry, and assist high-risk residents, work flexible hours, and handle physical tasks such as sitting, standing, bending, and moving continuously. Must be able to lift/carry 50-75 pounds. This role involves a medium risk of COVID exposure due to direct resident care.
