The Role:
We are currently recruiting an experienced 400kV Commissioning Engineer to support works on a major transmission project at Beauly Substation.
This is an excellent opportunity to work on a high-profile 400kV site within a live substation environment, contributing to critical UK grid infrastructure through to mid-2026.
Key Responsibilities:
* Leading and carrying out commissioning of primary and secondary plant at 400kV
* Functional testing of protection and control schemes
* Reviewing, completing and signing off commissioning documentation
* Ensuring compliance with National Grid standards and site safety rules
* Coordinating with SAPs, Project Engineers and client representatives
* Supporting energisation and fault-finding activities
* Working safely within a live transmission environment
Essential Requirements:
* Extensive experience commissioning at 400kV level
* Strong background within UK transmission projects
* Solid understanding of UK T&D commissioning procedures
* SSEN CAT3 authorisation (absolutely essential)
* Proven experience working in live substations
