Senior Project Manager - Strategic Estates Salary from £55,690 to £62,682 per annum Location Dorset area hospital sites and partner locations Reports to Strategic Estates Programme Manager Accountable to Your Future Hospital Programme Director Department Strategic Estates Directorate Strategy Transformation and Partnerships Full time permanent role If you get a buzz from turning complex estates plans into reality and you can hold a design team to account without breaking a sweat, this is the role for you. You will lead major projects that deliver a strategic estates masterplan that enables clinical priorities and organisational change. You will be trusted to own projects through every stage from options appraisal to practical completion and post project evaluation. Key responsibilities * Lead day to day delivery of masterplan projects and other strategic estates work programmes. * Produce and maintain core project documentation including business cases risk and issues registers communications plans project plans and benefits templates. * Prepare and evaluate options appraisals and provide clear recommendations. * Plan and manage project budgets and resources to deliver on time and to budget. * Provide leadership to design teams consultants and contractors to drive quality and compliance with legislation and best practice. * Support planning and building control submissions where required. * Chair and support project boards and working groups and present reports to internal and external stakeholders. * Ensure effective stakeholder engagement including clinical leads service managers and external partners. * Capture lessons learnt and deliver post project evaluation and benefits realisation. * Work flexibly and autonomously to meet tight timeframes and shifting priorities. What success looks like You will be a reliable project lead who delivers projects on time and on budget while keeping clinicians and stakeholders informed and engaged. You will turn ambiguity into clear plans and manage risks before they become problems. Person specification Essential * Degree level qualification or equivalent experience operating at the required level. * PRINCE2 or equivalent project management qualification or experience to masters level equivalent. * Proven experience of managing complex capital projects and delivering change. * Strong experience in stakeholder engagement and communications. * Demonstrable ability to lead project teams including external consultants and contractors. * Excellent planning organisational and analytical skills with the ability to make sound judgements. * Strong written and verbal communication skills including presentation ability. * Proficient IT skills including Word PowerPoint Excel and Outlook. * Ability to work independently prioritise workload and deliver to tight deadlines. Desirable * Experience of working in the public sector or health care. * Previous experience of capital estates projects within a hospital environment. * Experience of chairing project boards and managing complex governance arrangements.
