Childrens Residential Support Worker
Location: Stoke-on-Trent
Salary: up to £32,000 (inclusive of sleep-in shifts)
Hours: Part-time (24 hours) OR Full-time (37.5 hours)
About the Role

As a Childrens Residential Support Worker, you will play a key part in creating a warm, supportive environment that helps children feel secure, valued and empowered to achieve their goals.
Responsibilities
Provide daily care and emotional support to children in a residential setting.
Build strong, positive relationships based on trust and respect.
Support children in developing independence, life skills and confidence.
Work as part of a close-knit team to ensure the highest standards of care.
Develop and deliver individualised care plans.
Keep accurate records of daily activities, progress, and incidents.
Promote safeguarding and ensure the safety and wellbeing of every child.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will need to be caring, patient, and resilient with a genuine passion for supporting young people.
You should have:
Experience working with children or young people (residential, care, or education settings).
Good knowledge of safeguarding and child protection.
A Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards this).
Aged 21+
A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle insured for business use.
Pay & Shift Details
You will work on a 4-week rolling rota including weekends and sleep-ins (approx. 8 per month for full-time and 6 for part-time). The typical shift times will be 7am-3pm and 2.30pm 10.30pm.
Safeguarding
This position involves working directly with children and is therefore exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. All applicants will undergo:
