Warehouse Supervisor Role and Responsibilities
The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all warehouse activities, including accurate goods receipt and dispatch to maintain correct stock levels. They will provide efficient and professional service to customers, visitors, and suppliers.
Ensuring full compliance with Health & Safety, environmental, and quality standards within the warehouse. This includes conducting and documenting weekly and monthly facility inspections, participating in safety meetings, and implementing corrective actions.
The role involves participating in facility and service vehicle audits, ensuring all engineering tools and equipment are calibrated, tested, and safe to use, with documentation stored properly. The supervisor will ensure engineers have the necessary parts picked and ready for workflow, perform regular stock checks, and investigate any anomalies.
Working closely with Purchasing and Finance departments, the supervisor will manage parts orders using SAGE, oversee parts movements, and arrange external shipping. They may also deliver parts directly to customer locations and engineer sites as needed.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
* Ensure stock accuracy and quality within the warehouse.
* Maintain a tidy, safe, and compliant working environment.
* Implement procedures for maintenance of equipment and warehouse operations.
* Manage the lifting equipment register and ensure testing at required intervals.
* Control and calibrate engineering tools and ensure all equipment is PAT tested.
* Oversee the testing and safety of workshop equipment, engineer vans, and office equipment.
* Develop and enforce policies to meet company and legislative standards, promoting a safety and quality culture.
* Perform daily and weekly stock checks, report discrepancies promptly.
* Liaise with suppliers to ensure excellent service and manage parts ordering and receipt, maintaining optimal stock levels.
* Utilize SAGE for stock control and generate reports for management.
* Participate in health and safety meetings and conduct regular premises inspections, including fire alarm checks.
Experience and Qualifications
* Proficiency in Sage and Microsoft Office Suite.
* Full UK Driving Licence.
* Counterbalance Forklift Truck Licence.
* Health & Safety qualification or significant knowledge.
* First Aid at Work certification.
* Fire awareness and Fire Marshall training.
* Legionella awareness training.
* Ability to source parts effectively.
* Knowledge of engine brands, preferably from an automotive background.
