Your new role
Reporting to the Assistant Accountant, you will take ownership of a broad range of transactional finance duties while supporting month‑end and year‑end processes. You will also act as a key point of contact for internal teams and play an important role in ensuring accurate financial records and smooth day‑to‑day operations.Your responsibilities will include:Accounts Payable
1. Processing supplier invoices and credit notes
2. Matching invoices to purchase orders and following approval workflows
3. Preparing supplier payment runs
4. Sending supplier statements and resolving invoice queries
Accounts Receivable
5. Creating and issuing customer invoices
6. Ensuring timely and accurate billing for services provided
7. Managing debt collection, issuing reminders and following up on outstanding balances
8. Liaising with external stakeholders to ensure prompt payment
9. Monitoring, allocating and reconciling customer receipts
10. Producing and issuing customer statements
Finance Support
11. Assisting with month‑end and year‑end journals and reconciliations
12. Managing and reconciling direct debits
13. Processing staff expense claims
14. Posting cash expenditure from service teams
15. Maintaining accurate financial files and records
16. Responding to internal and external financial queries
17. Providing cover for payroll and finance administration when required
18. Supporting audit preparation and contributing to audit processes
19. Assisting senior finance staff with financial reporting
Administration
20. Acting as the main point of contact at central reception
21. Handling iing calls, post and general enquiries
22. Ordering supplies for offices and service teams
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
23. Experience in a similar finance or transactional accounting role
24. Strong knowledge of purchase ledger and sales ledger processes
25. Excellent organisational skills and strong attention to detail
26. Confidentmunication skills when dealing with internal teams and external partners
27. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
28. Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
29. A professional, values‑driven approach to your work
A finance qualification (such as Accounting Technician) would be beneficial but is not essential with relevant experience.
